And I’m back again!
It must be spring … or summer. Suddenly, there’s too many things going on and I don’t have as much time to sit and write about randomness again. I’ve been taking photos, with all these accompanying blog-posts running through my head, and yet nothing moves. Such is life …
I walked into a grocery store one day, and came upon these orchids. I stopped in the middle of the aisle, as I stood there and watched these blue and purple creations.
After having been to the orchid shows, I know that they were probably dyed. These orchids don’t come in these colours … or do they?
After a little research, I came across this article about electric-blue phalaenopsis orchids that stopped shoppers in their tracks at supermarkets. Hey! Did they see me do exactly just that??
Hmmm … there’s even a warning there about not even thinking of a do-it-yourself dyeing process. Were they reading my mind again?? The thought did cross my mind, but I didn’t think I was ready to try dyeing orchids; I’m still experimenting with roses and other plants. Besides, this blue dye isn’t even available, so that takes care of that.
In the meantime, I’ll just sit here and admire the colours.
Q – Crazy!! Love the colors.
🙂
I love these colors and flowers…!
I didn’t know these were dyed, I thought they were just germinated that way. Who knew? I had the purple version of this for my 30th birthday. It lasted all of six months, lol.
LoL! My orchid lasted less about as long as well … definitely no green thumb for me!
